Bradenton man charged with molesting child

A 32-year-old Bradenton man sexually battered a child under the age of 18, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

Police say Jose Rivera-Otero was in a child’s bedroom at the victim’s home, took the child’s cellphone and began playing the movie, “How High 2.”

Rivera-Otero covered himself and the victim with a blanket and sexually assaulted the minor, according to the arrest report.

The exact age and gender of the victim were redacted from the report.

The alleged attack happened in the evening of April 9, and Rivera-Otero was arrested shortly after police began their investigation.

Police say Rivera-Otero admitted to being in the child’s bedroom and under the blanket with the victim. According to the report, he told police that he was watching the movie with the victim and began to “tickle” the child.

He denied sexually assaulting the victim.

Rivera-Otero was booked into the Manatee County jail on a charge of forced fondling charge on a child under the age of 18. He remains in custody on a $200,000 bond.
