Man, 18, shot to death in Bradenton. A 15-year-old is on the run, cops say

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a 15-year-old boy in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old man early Friday in Bradenton.

The shooting happened just before 2:30 a.m. in the 5900 block of 13th Street Court East.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Deputies say the suspect, Nathaniel Garza, and the victim were sitting in a car in a driveway. The pair were listening to music when Garza pulled a gun and began playing with it, according to a witness statement provided to deputies.

The gun went off and the victim was shot in the head. Garza ran away, deputies said.

Deputies arrived to find the victim in the driver’s seat, slumped over the center console.

EMS responded and transported the victim to Blake Medical Center where he died from his injuries just before 11 a.m. Friday.

“Deputies are currently looking for Nathaniel Garza in connection to the fatal shooting,” the sheriff’s office said.
