Bradenton man charged with sexually assaulting a child

A 33-year-old Bradenton man was arrested Tuesday after a child disclosed to a relative that she was being sexually abused and that the abuse started in December, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim told a relative she was visiting out of town in late January, and an investigation was launched into the allegations against Corey McCray.

The age of the child was not disclosed in a heavily redacted report. McCray was not directly related to the child and deputies say medical exam findings, “were verified for sexual abuse.”

According to the report, McCray would sneak into the child’s bedroom to assault her. He has denied the allegations.

He was booked into the Manatee County jail where he remains without bond pending a future court date.
