Bradenton high school student caught with loaded gun and drugs ready for sale, cops say

An 18-year-old man is facing multiple charges after he was found with a loaded firearm and drugs packaged for sale inside his vehicle, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Emmanuel Roblero lists himself on the arrest report as a student at Edison Academics, a private charter school in Bradenton, However, a member of its board of directors on Thursday morning said there is no record of Roblero attending the school.

Deputies saw Roblero pull into Mike’s Mini Mart, 5614 15th St. E., and go inside while leaving his vehicle running. Deputies made contact with Roblero for the violation.

Deputies say Robiero said, “Man, I got something in the car, a gun,” according to the arrest report.

Deputies looked inside Roberlo’s vehicle and in plain view saw three large, sealed plastic bags on the rear passenger seat. The vehicle was seized and taken to the sheriff’s office impound yard and a search warrant was executed the following day.

Deputies found a loaded handgun with an extended magazine inside the vehicle and determined the packaged material was marijuana, which weighed almost 150 grams, or about 5.2 ounces. Deputies also found more than $6,300 in cash.

Roblero was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a weapon by a delinquent and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Roblero was released Wednesday after posting more than $8,500 in bonds.

According to court records Roblero was arrested in October on a charge of possession of marijuana and providing a false identity to law enforcement. Roblero was able to use the fake name until he began court appearances at which time authorities were able to identify his real name.

Prosecutors declined to continue to pursue charges and the case was dismissed in December.
