Bradenton drug dealer sold gun to undercover cop, feds say. He faces a long prison sentence
A reputed member of the street gang Team no Sleep is facing life in prison for dealing heroin and fentanyl, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Joseph Brice Jr., 26, pleaded guilty to distributing heroin and fentanyl and to possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. He now faces up to life in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
Brice sold heroin and fentanyl to undercover detectives five times, according to his plea agreement. During the first deal, Brice also sold the undercover detective a gun.
With previous convictions for armed burglary and selling cocaine, Brice was not supposed to possess guns.
Local law enforcement was familiar with Brice.
In 2016, he was one of 16 members of Team no Sleep who were arrested on various drug, weapons and conspiracy to murder charges.
Brice pleaded guilty to selling cocaine for his involvement in that case on Feb. 4, 2016. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison with credit time for served and then placed on two years drug offender probation.
