A 21-year-old woman charged with attempting to sexually assault two disabled women who were living with her at the time, is scheduled to be tried in April, according to court documents.

Savannah Burry was initially charged with multiple felonies, but some charges have been reduced. According to the most recent court records, Burry faces one count of lewd and lascivious molestation of an elderly person or disabled adult and felony false imprisonment. Two felony charges of tampering with a witness have been dropped and two aggravated battery charges have been reduced to misdemeanors.

According to the Bradenton Police Department, the primary victim — whose age was redacted from the original police report — has the mental capacity of a 13-year-old.

Police say on June 6, Burry fell to the ground and asked the victim for help. When the victim reached down to help her, Burry grabbed the victim’s cell phone and threw it into another room and then pulled her into the bathroom.

Burry demanded the victim take a bath with her and then attempted to pull the victim’s robe off, while kissing her against her will, according to the report, which further states Burry groped the victim during the incident.

Another woman in the house heard the commotion and opened the bathroom door, at which time Burry punched her in the face “several times,” the report states. After a struggle, the second victim escaped Burry’s grasp and ran out of the room with Burry chasing her, yelling that she intended to rape her, police say.

The second victim is reported to have several debilitating disorders as well and police say Burry was aware that both women suffered from diminished mental capacities.

Police responded to the scene after someone called 911 to report screaming. They observed the second victim to have one eye swollen shut and blood coming from her nose and mouth.

While Emergency Medical Services was treating all three of them, police say Burry spit on the paramedic trying to help her.

Burry was booked into the Manatee County jail on all of the related charges. Her case resurfaced on Friday when a Pinellas County warrant was served to her for violating probation. Burry was previously arrested and convicted in Pinellas County for possession of a controlled substance.
