Hit-and-run driver kills pedestrian in Bradenton, FHP says. Have you seen a blue Honda?
A Bradenton man is dead after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Manatee County early Sunday morning.
The unidentified driver left the scene of the accident without stopping, according to Florida Highway Patrol. Witnesses described the vehicle in the hit-and-run crash as a blue Honda.
The crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. Sunday on 15th Street East, just north of 57th Avenue East, in Bradenton.
Pablo Isabel Salguero Tobar, 51, was crossing 15th Street East on foot, traveling east.
The unknown driver was traveling north on 15th Street East, troopers say, and failed to slow down or take evasive action to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
After the collision, the driver left the scene without stopping to render aid to Tobar.
Tobar was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The vehicle involved is described as a four-door blue Honda. Anyone with information is asked to contact Florida Highway Patrol by calling 239-938-1800 or *FHP (*347) on a cellular phone.
