Man broke into Bradenton Baptist church. It got worse from there, cops say

A 32-year-old Venice man has been charged with breaking into and vandalizing a Bradenton church, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to Trinity Baptist Church, 5116 26th St. W., just before 10 p.m. Monday and found Daniel Kersey on the scene, according to the arrest report.

Kersey, 32, faces charges of felony burglary and felony vandalism to a church. He was booked into the Manatee County jail where he remains in custody on bonds totaling $3,000.

Deputies cleared the church to make sure no one else was inside and noticed several areas of the church had been damage. A door with tile lining was destroyed, a large industrial sink was ripped off the wall in the kitchen, electrical outlets were ripped from the walls and the front doors had damage consistent with being pried open.

Deputies say the the church’s surveillance system caught Kersey causing the damage.
