Bradenton teenager set up a drug deal so he could rob his customer, cops say

A 15-year-old Horizons Academy student is facing a felony armed robbery charge after he robbed someone who thought he was buying marijuana from the suspect, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say the Darian O’Neill, who is known to sell marijuana, was contacted by the victim through his Snapchat account.

A deal was set up for about 10 p.m. Dec. 27 in the 2100 block of 87th Street Court Northwest. When the victim arrived, the teen produced what appeared to be a .45-caliber handgun, placed the weapon to the victim’s head and demanded all of his property, the report states.

O’Neill, who was arrested the following day, claimed the firearm was “only a BB gun,” according to the report.
