Sarasota law enforcement are investigating three separate overnight shootings

Three unrelated shootings are being investigated by both the Sarasota Police Department and the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

Saraosta police tweeted Monday afternoon around 5:30 p.m. that their detectives were investigating a shooting that occurred at the 10th Street boat ramp, which shut down northbound Tamiami Trail for about an hour between Sixth Street and 10th Street.

Police have not released any further information at this time.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office was investigating two separate shootings that happened between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Monday night.

According to the sheriff’s office, the latter shooting occurred in the 1100 block of Shallow Run in east Sarasota and detectives say the shooting was a, “domestic situation with one person injured and being treated at the hospital. There is no indication of any additional threat to the public, all involved parties are accounted for.”

The sheriff’s office did not provide any further details.

The 8 p.m. shooting occurred in the 2600 block of North Tuttle Avenue. The sheriff’s office is not reporting any injuries at this time and the incident also remains under investigation.
