‘It is for my daughter, she has medical bills.” Man explains why he robbed 7-Eleven store
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery of a Bradenton 7-Eleven store.
The unidentified suspect on Thursday walked into the 7-Eleven at 5310 34th St. W. and told the clerk, “Give me everything you got, don’t worry I won’t hurt you,” while taking his hands out of his pockets to show the clerk that he wasn’t armed, deputies say.
The clerk opened the register, put her hands in the air and the suspect said, “No, hand it to me,” the report states.
As the clerk took the money out of the register, she asked the suspect if he needed a bag. He declined, saying, “I did not want to do this. It is for my daughter, she has medical bills. Wait five seconds to call the police. I love you.”
The suspect — who is unknown to the victim — then ran away. Detectives were expected to speak with the store’s owner on Friday to review the store’s video surveillance. A description of the suspect was not yet listed.
Deputies say he made off with between $50 and $60 from the 7-Eleven store.
