Man hospitalized after hit-and-run. FHP is looking for driver who the fled scene

The Florida Highway Patrol is looking for a driver of a 2016 Nissan Sentra, who troopers say fled the scene of a hit-and-run collision that sent a 76-year-old man to the hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

Troopers say the accident occurred at around 5:30 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of 14th Street West and 60th Avenue West.

According to the FHP, the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run has been located, but the driver has not.

Troopers say the injured elderly man was in front of the Sentra traveling northbound on 14th Street West when the unknown driver slammed into the victim from the rear. The driver of the Sentra then fled the scene immediately after the crash.

The victim was transported to Blake Medical Center.

If you have information, you can call the Florida Highway Patrol at 239-938-1800.
