He was on probation for heroin when he was caught with meth and firearms, Manatee deputies say
A 25-year-old Manatee County convicted felon spent Thanksgiving behind bars after being arrested and charged with armed trafficking in methamphetamine, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Adam Pulse was on probation for possession of heroin and had a warrant for his arrest for violation of drug offender probation.
Pulse was arrested shortly before 4 a.m. on Tuesday at the Wawa gas station located at 2509 Cortez Road W. after a deputy on routine patrol saw Pulse and a female inside a vehicle who appeared to be unconscious.
Deputies conducted a welfare check and saw drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, according to the arrest report. Both suspects were removed from the vehicle and detained for further investigation.
Deputies say Pulse initially gave them a false name, but later said he did it because he knew he had a warrant out on him, the report states.
Inside the vehicle, deputies found two loaded firearms, two boxes of ammunition and 27 grams of methamphetamine, according to the report.
Pulse was booked into the Manatee County jail for armed trafficking of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. He remains in custody on a bond hold.
According to jail records, Pulse has a lengthy arrest record. Prior arrests include domestic battery, giving false information to law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance and theft.
