A man was shot in Palmetto. Cops are hearing 'inconsistencies' about what happened

Deputies are investigating a shooting that injured one person in Palmetto Tuesday night.

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, a 26-year-old man was shot in the left leg by another man in the 400 block of 25th Street East in Palmetto around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The 26-year-old was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital by a family member for treatment of what deputies said were non-life threatening injuries after the incident.

Deputies said so far, their investigation has found "several inconsistencies" in what occurred. The investigation is ongoing. Deputies are still searching for the shooter, who has not yet been identified.
