Florida woman went to courthouse for jury duty. She left in handcuffs.

A New Port Richey woman walked into a judicial center to find out if she would become a juror but left in handcuffs instead.

Kristine Victoria Mittler, 39, went to the West Pasco Judicial Center on Monday afternoon to report for jury duty when she set off an alarm during the security screening at the building's entrance.

Mittler was searched and was found with two folded foil packets in the pocket of her cargo pants that had white powder inside, WFLA News Channel 8 reports. A test confirmed that the powder was 0.6 grams of cocaine.

Pasco County deputies also said they found a straw that tested positive for methamphetamine.

The sheriff's office said Mittler had not officially been chosen to be a juror but was in the process of finding out that afternoon.

Mittler admitted Post Miranda that the drugs were hers and she "forgot they were in her pants pocket," according to 10News WTSP.

She was transported to the Land O'Lakes Jail and was being held on a $6,000 bond, according to jail records.

Mittler faces drug possession charges and possession of drug paraphernalia.
