Sarasota man arrested on child porn charges

Detectives in Sarasota County arrested a 55-year-old Englewood man Thursday for possession of child pornography.

According to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Hudson’s IP address was used to download multiple child pornography files. Sheriff’s deputies tracked that IP address to an apartment unit in the 200 block of Cedar St. and found Hudson living there.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for the home and a forensic scan of Hudson’s computer allegedly revealed digital images and videos of child pornography. He faces five felony counts of possession: sexual performance by a child.

The investigation is ongoing and Hudson could face additional charges, deputies said.
