Detectives ID body in possible Bradenton homicide

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death after a body was found Monday morning.

According to a release from MCSO Public Information Director Dave Bristow, a worker in the area discovered the body at about 8:35 a.m. in the 3500 block of 26th Avenue East.

The man has been identified as 41-year-old Michael Angelo Jacoby Grantley, according to the sheriff’s office.

Detectives arrived to find Grantley’s body about 30 yards south of 26th Avenue East. His death is being treated as a homicide.

An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death, according to the release.
