10-year-old boy shot in head, deputies say
A 10-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the head by another child on Monday afternoon in Dade City, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say they received the call about a shooting around 2:57 p.m.
Preliminary information indicates that two children, a 9-year-old and 10-year-old, were left unattended in a home in the 38800 block of Old Sparkman Road, according to the sheriff’s office.
That’s where the 10-year-old was accidentally shot in the head by the other child, deputies said.
He was taken as a trauma alert to a local hospital. The boy was alert and talking, deputies said.
