Woman woke to find burglar standing over her bed; police searching for suspect
CLEARWATER -- Clearwater police are searching for a man who they say broke into a woman’s Clearwater home while she was sleeping — and slipped into her bedroom.
The incident occurred at a home off McMullen Booth Road.
The victim said when she heard her dog barking, she looked around her bedroom and saw the man standing over her bed. Police said he then took off running through the front door.
It’s not clear if anything was taken from her home. The victim wasn’t hurt.
Clearwater police believe he got in through an unlocked window.
Police said the suspect is described as being in his mid to late 40s, between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall, and he has salt and pepper hair with a gray goatee.
Surveillance video caught images of the man who was wearing all black, including black rimmed-glasses.
Anyone with information is asked to call Clearwater Police at (727) 562-4242.
