Mark Simpson, 57, was arrested Monday for allegedly using a stolen company vehicle to steal another vehicle, as well as more than $31,000 worth of equipment.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest in the investigation of a limping suspect who used a stolen truck to steal another truck and more than $31,000 worth of equipment from two Sarasota businesses on Nov. 11.

Deputies say they arrested Mark Simpson, 57, on Monday for two business burglaries and vehicles thefts. Video surveillance from one of the businesses seemed to capture Simpson using a stolen company van as a battering ram to down the doors and make off with a white flat-bed truck.

Information on Simpson’s bond and criminal charges was not immediately available.
