Man steals cash, company car at gunpoint, cops say

A robbery suspect is at large after stealing cash and a truck from an auto replacement part shop Sunday evening.

Employees of Advance Auto Parts, located at 3103 53rd Ave. E., were at the store’s entrance around 7:37 p.m. when a 6-foot-tall suspect walked up and pointed a gun at them, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect told the employees to go inside and demanded an unknown amount of money, according to the sheriff’s office. He then stole keys for a company car, which he then dumped about four miles north in the area of 20th Street East and 11th Avenue East.

The suspect was wearing all black clothing with a black cap and black bandana, the sheriff’s office reported.
