Person charged with resisting, fleeing, drug possession during impaired driver patrols
In an overnight effort to stop impaired drivers on the roads, Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested one person on several charges including attempted escape and drug possession as well as two people for DUI.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, one person was charged with an escape attempt, fleeing to elude, resisting arrest without violence, failure to obey a law enforcement officer’s order to stop, possession of cocaine with intent to sell and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
The person was not named in the release and no further details were immediately available.
Deputies also reported two DUI arrests overnight Friday into Saturday, while also writing 35 traffic citations and issuing five warnings.
