A man was asleep in his car. Then he got stabbed

Deputies are looking for a suspect after a man was stabbed while sleeping in his vehicle, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

A 37-year-old man was sleeping in the driver’s seat of his vehicle Tuesday night at Marathon Gas Station, 5942 14th St. W., around 10:15 p.m., deputies said.

A witness told investigators the suspect was in the front seat of the vehicle with the victim before taking off.

The man got out of his vehicle with stab wounds and was taken to the hospital. Deputies believe his injuries are not life threatening.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators are working to identify the suspect.
