Police want to talk to the man who used a very expensive car in a skateboard trick
After the video of a skateboarder doing a trick on top of an expensive car made the rounds on social media, police opened an investigation into the criminal mischief.
The video shows a person on a skateboard, wearing brown pants, a dark shirt and a hat jumping up and riding the skateboard across the hood of the car.
According to Fox 4 Now, the car was a custom-painted Audi R8. The owner of the vehicle, Tonya Halvorsrod, told Fox 4 Now her car is believed to be the only R8 in the “voodoo blue” color.
Halvorsrod said she and her husband were in Ybor City around 9 p.m. Saturday. They did not find out about the video until the next morning, when other Audi owners across the area recognized the paint.
Halvorsrod also told Fox 4 Now the incident caused $4,000 worth of damage to the car’s hood, and she will need to have it replaced.
Tampa police said the case is being investigated as a felony criminal mischief and noted on their YouTube page that they are looking to speak with a person of interest, Dalton Newbury.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has additional footage is asked to contact Tampa Police at 813-231-6130.
