Police obtain warrant for murder suspect

Plant City police are searching for Zakarii Marshall, 23, who they believe murdered a man he tried to buy ammunition from on Nov. 1.

The Plant City Police Department is investigating an ammunition sale gone wrong, resulting in a murder.

Officials say Zakarii Marshall, 23, met with the unnamed victim in the 300 block of North Thomas Street to buy ammunition at approximately 12:20 a.m. on Nov. 1, but a dispute occurred and Marshall shot the victim multiple times in the upper body.

According to police, Marshall met the victim a few days earlier through a mutual friend.

Detectives have obtained a warrant for Marshall’s arrest and say that he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay is offering a reward of up to $3,000 for information that leads to the location or arrest of Marshall.
