Florida man charged with impregnating disabled teen
A Florida man was arrested after deputies say he impregnated a disabled teenaged girl, according to reports.
Carlos Carrizales, 59, of Frostproof, was charged with sexual battery on a helpless person and impregnating a minor. Polk County Sheriff’s Office officials said DNA confirmed Carrizales was the father of the 14-year-old girl’s baby, according to WFLA News Channel 8.
The victim’s mother took the girl - who is significantly disabled and non-verbal - to the doctor for unexplained weight gain. The mother was told her daughter was pregnant during the exam, ABC Action News reported, citing the arrest affidavit.
Investigators interviewed and got DNA samples from all men who had access to the 14-year-old girl, according to ABC Action News. The DNA sample collected from Carrizales was a match to a sample from the girl’s baby taken after the child was born.
Carrizales did not cooperate and refused to speak with detectives when he was confronted, according to WFLA.
Jail records show he was booked into the Polk County jail Monday.
“This monster committed one of the most egregious crimes fathomable,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd told reporters. “There is nothing we can say about this except we hope he is sentenced to prison for the rest of his life.”
