North Miami police believe this is a photo of Marcine Bernard Hill, 17, who police say shot and killed a North Miami Beach man as he withdrew money from an ATM at a Bank of America branch in North Miami BeachWednesday night.

A teen with criminal past was picked up in Broward County Thursday night and charged with the murder of a North Miami Beach man who was killed while withdrawing money from an ATM Wednesday night.

Marcine Bernard Hill, 17, was taken into custody without incident and charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Dillon Bud Calvin Steve, 26. Police said Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies found Hill in a vehicle. He was jailed in Broward County.

“We had multiple tips,” said North Miami Beach Maj. Richard Rand.

Police believe Hill was the man wearing an Ecko jacket with the words Kill Batman in large, white block letters on the left sleeve, who snuck up behind Calvin Steve and robbed and shot him while he was withdrawing money from Bank of America at 1199 NE 163rd St., North Miami Beach.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Wednesday.

They immediately released a still photo from surveillance video of the man believed to be Hill staring almost directly into the camera while holding a semi-automatic handgun in his left hand. The hoodie on his jacket, when closed, was the face of the joker from the “Batman” movies.

Police said Calvin Steve was shot and killed after getting out of his vehicle and making his way to the ATM at the back of the bank. Hill, according to police, surprised Calvin Steve from behind. Calvin Steve’s mother was in the vehicle and witnessed the shooting.

The shooter, Rand said, took off on foot after robbing an undisclosed amount from Calvin Steve. People at a nearby restaurant raced over to help and Calvin Steve was transported to Aventura Hospital, where he died during surgery.

Though police called it a crime of opportunity, they believe Hill stalked his victim. Police also haven’t said how many times Calvin Steve was shot or where he was struck.

On Thursday, before Hill’s capture, North Miami Beach Police Detective Juan Pinillos said, “Unfortunately for him, he left his face exposed.”
