He demanded money. When store clerk refused, he took off

Deputies are searching for a suspect who they said tried to rob a Bradenton business Wednesday night.

A suspect, described as a man possibly in his 20s, went up to the front counter of the Dollar General at 6414 14th St. W. around 9:10 p.m. Wednesday and demanded money from the clerk, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

The clerk told deputies the suspect showed something that looked like a handgun when he demanded the cash.

The clerk refused to hand over the money and the suspect took off.

Deputies said the suspect was wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and camouflage pants.
