The Broward Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who detectives say shot a woman during a potential iPhone sale in North Lauderdale.

She wanted to sell her old iPhone and found a potential buyer through an app, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

So the woman and her fiancé agreed to meet the man near 1348 Avon Lane in North Lauderdale Sunday.

The buyer, however, said he didn’t have cash and asked them to drive him to the Chevron Gas Station, 7100 W. McNab Rd., to go to the ATM.

Security cameras in the store captured images of the man.

The couple then drove the man back to the original spot, detectives said. That’s when they realized he was “acting oddly,” BSO said in a release.

“The buyer pulled out a gun and demanded both of their phones,” BSO said. “The couple quickly drove off but not before the robber fired a shot at the female victim.”

The woman was hit by a bullet on the right side of the back of her head, according to BSO. Her fiancé took her to University Hospital and Medical Center in Tamarac, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The man is described as approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall, with a medium build, a dark complexion and short dark hair. He was last seen in a blue Puma tracksuit and white athletic shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Detective Theophilus Woulard at 954-321-4553 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
