Employees find headless body in trash pile
Employees at a garbage plant discovered a headless body in a pile of trash Monday afternoon, police said.
They immediately called the police when they found the decapitated corpse within the garbage at the Waste Connection trash depot at 4250 NW 37th Ct.
Hialeah police spokesman Lt. Carl Zogby said the investigation into the gender and identity of the body is just beginning, as well as where it came from.
“They get trash from all over the place over there,” he said.
The body was in rough shape, he said, although investigators don’t know what role the heavy machinery used to move trash bags played or how long the body had been there.
“In this weather, a body can decompose pretty badly in a couple of days,” Zogby said.
