Man stabbed in attempted robbery, sheriff says

A man said he was stabbed when four men tried to rob him Thursday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to Manatee Memorial Hospital on Friday morning after a man reported he had been stabbed.

The 41-year-old man told deputies he was standing behind the Super Stop, 5627 15th St. E., in Bradenton around 11 p.m. Thursday when four men between 25 and 30 years old approached him wearing shorts and t-shirts, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

One of the suspects pulled out a dark-colored handgun and demanded money while a second took out a knife and stabbed the man, according to the sheriff’s office.

The man was later taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
