Two women and a 16-year-old girl are facing charges after detectives found hundreds of dollars of suspected stolen merchandise in their vehicle.

Reports of a stolen wallet brought Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office deputies to Publix, 1091 N. Tamiami Trail in Nokomis, just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The victim told deputies she received alerts of transactions on her credit card at nearby businesses.

A Publix store manager at a Venice location reached out to investigators, saying the suspects were in his store, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies found and stopped the two women, Kisha Nelcy and Dyshia King, along with a 16-year-old girl, in a vehicle traveling east on Jacaranda Boulevard, according to the release. Inside the car, deputies saw the stolen wallet, credit card, receipts and various merchandise.

The women and the girl also used the stolen credit card at three other Publix locations and a CVS, according to the sheriff’s office.

Nelcy, 22, was charged with five counts of criminal use of personal identification and is being held on $7,500 bond at the Sarasota County Jail.

King, 22, was charged with two counts of criminal use of personal identification and is being held without bond on a violation of probation charge stemming from Orange County.

The 16-year-old was charged with two misdemeanors and later released to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Another passenger in the vehicle was released at the scene.
