A 55-year-old Bradenton man was arrested Wednesday after beating a house guest with a police baton, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Brian Castle was letting a 27-year-old man and his girlfriend stay at his home in the 700 block of 56th Avenue East, when the two men got into an argument. When things got too heated, Castle hit the man on the head with a billy club, the sheriff’s office said.

The man was taken to a local hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

Castle faces one count of aggravated battery and is being held at the Manatee County jail without bond.
