An intoxicated man in Palmetto got into an argument. That’s when he grabbed a machete

An intoxicated assailant used a machete to injure a 41-year-old man after an argument late Saturday night in a Palmetto subdivision, according to a news release from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities said the victim and the suspect, who was intoxicated, got into an argument . The suspect then armed himself with a machete, striking the victim in the hand. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.

The suspect fled the scene, and the investigation continues, the release said.
