Man charged with stabbing another man

A 38-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday after deputies say he stabbed another man, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Phillip J Wilsie was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Wilsie is being held without bond at the Manatee County jail, jail records show.

Deputies were to the 400 block of Spring Lakes Boulevard in the Spring Lake Condo community to a report of a stabbing, according to a news release. When deputies arrived, they found the 47-year-old victim sitting on the steps of his home.

Deputies say the victim told them he had gotten into an argument with Wilsie, during which he was stabbed in his side, the release states. The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Wilsie was arrested not far the victim’s home, deputies said.

His prior criminal history includes convictions for fraudulent use of a credit card and possession of a controlled substance. Wilsie was most recently arrested in April for violating his probation on his fraud conviction.
