He broke through the door, but couldn’t break into a quarter machine. So he left empty-handed
Where there’s a will, there’s usually a way; unless you’re a burglar and acrylic glass stands between you and your intended target.
Acrylic glass, known by its brand name Plexiglas, thwarted the efforts of a would-be burglar when he tried to make off with the contents of a quarter machine game at the 4 U Convenience Store on State Road 590 in Clearwater early Wednesday morning, according to WFLA and a Clearwater Police Department Facebook post on the incident.
The post included security camera footage of the burglary.
But footage shows that the burglar was able to break through the glass front door with a hammer before attempting to smash the quarter machine, according to WFLA.
When the hammer didn’t work on the quarter machine, the burglar grabbed a wine bottle and continued his assault on the machine, to no avail, according to WFLA.
Perhaps the most puzzling part was, after all that work, the burglar walked out of the store empty-handed.
