Deputies hope to throw a big chill on air conditioner thieves

It's hot. Really hot.

So sweltering, in fact, that two individuals are being sought for stealing multiple air conditioning units worth more than $25,000.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, an unknown man and woman walked up to the business complex in the 13000 block of Linebaugh Avenue West sometime between June 9 and 12 and snatched five A/C units.

In surveillance video provided by the sheriff's office, what detectives believe to be a heavy set man wearing a mask walks up to the complex just after 3 a.m. on June 11. Right behind him is what appears to be a heavy set woman wearing a hat and handkerchief over her face. The pair then use a dolly to wheel out one of the units.

That same weekend, two outdoor units and two indoor units were stolen from homes under construction off of Linebaugh Avenue.

A grand total of $25,380 worth of A/C units were taken.
