A 22-year-old man was behind bars Tuesday night after police say he gunned down a 19-year-old earlier this month.

Ed Lamarre, 22, was being held at Miami-Dade's Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center Tuesday night with no bond.

Brian Brown was shot June 14 after he met with someone he connected with on Craigslist to sell his video games, according to Miami Herald news partner CBS4.

The station reported that Brown, who had just graduated from North Miami Beach Senior High School, was headed to Merced College in California on a full football scholarship.

Police said Tuesday the department's Intracoastal District was called to Aventura Hospital, where Brown was taken. Police investigators later learned that Brown had met with Lamarre in the area of Northeast 177th Street and Ninth Avenue.

“As Mr. Brown met with the subject, an argument ensued,” police said. “The subject then produced a firearm, and fired several rounds, striking Mr. Brown.”

Brown died a day after the shooting.

Lamarre was charged with murder.
