Cops say he stole items, then tried to sell them back to the owner
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office took to social media to share a bit of criminal wisdom Wednesday.
According to the sheriff’s office, Irvin Robinson stayed overnight at a friend’s house and took items from the victim’s purse along with jewelry and a handgun the next morning and left.
Later that day, Robinson tried to sell the items back to the victim on social media. The victim called the sheriff’s office, who interviewed Robinson and said he had no involvement in the incident.
Robinson was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand theft, grand theft of a firearm and probation violation.
“If you decide to steal property after a sleep over, don’t try to sell the items back to the person you’ve stolen the property from — it probably won’t end in your favor,” the sheriff’s office posted.
