Suspect arrested in attempted drug robbery-by-note caught on video
A 38-year-old woman accused of passing bad notes has been arrested by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Not counterfeit money or messages making fun or bullying a peer, but notes used in Wednesday’s attempted robbery of a Dania Beach Walgreens, 200 S. Federal Hwy., caught on video. Joyce Shore of Hollywood was arrested Friday in the parking lot of a Hollywood Walgreens, 501 Sheridan St., while she held a similar note between her legs, according to BSO.
BSO says the note included a request for prescription drugs and a reference to firearm-packing friends nearby. Also, Shore sat in a dark blue Hyundai Elantra, the shade and make of car that the Dania Beach Walgreens surveillance video showed driving away after Wednesday’s failed note robbery. BSO thinks the short-haired Shore wore a weave Wednesday, thus the long-haired, pony-tailed woman in the Dania Walgreens video.
Shore is charged with Wednesday’s attempted robbery and a few other robberies at Broward County pharmacies. She faces three counts of robbery without a firearm or weapon and one count of robbery by sudden snatching with a firearm or weapon.
She remains in Broward County Main Jail on $45,000 bond.
