3 hurt in possible DUI crash
Three people were injured in a possible drunken driving crash early Friday on an East Manatee road, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
An FHP report suggests one of the drivers may have been drinking.
About 2:30 a.m., a 21-year-old Bradenton woman driving a 2013 Hyundai Sonata north on Rye Road, just north of Rivers Reach Boulevard, took a curve too fast, drifted over the center line and struck head-on a 2011 Cadillac STS driven by a 59-year-old Parrish woman heading south on Rye Road.
The driver of the Hyundai was flown by helicopter to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton. She was listed in serious condition, according to FHP.
The other driver and her passenger, a 61-year-old Parrish man, were taken by ambulance to Lakewood Ranch Medical Center with what was described as minor injuries.
Charges are pending as FHP awaits test results on the driver of the Hyundai, according to a news release.
