Manatee deputies arrest five during DUI patrol

Manatee County Sheriff’s Office deputies made five arrests for drunken driving late Friday night and early Saturday morning during a county-wide DUI saturation patrol, according to a news release.

Deputies also issued 65 citations and nine warnings.

Annually more than 17,000 people are killed and another 305,000 are injured as a result of impaired drivers, according to federal statistics.
