Lucy Richards of Tampa believes the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy — in which 20 children and six adults died in Newtown, Conn. — to be a hoax.
Richards, 57, was arrested Monday, accused in a federal court indictment of threatening a Florida parent who lost a child in the shooting:
“you gonna die, death is coming to you real soon.”
“death is coming to you real soon and there’s nothing you can do about it.”

“look behind you, death is coming to you real soon.”
“LOOK BEHIND YOU IT IS DEATH.”
The first three threats were verbal. The fourth was written. All were sent on or around Jan. 10, according to the indictment. They form the basis of Richards’ four counts of transmitting threats in interstate commerce. Each count is worth a maximum of five years.
Richards’ previous criminal record shows only a plea of no contest to petit theft in 1997.
