Man charged with child abuse
A Sarasota man was arrested Saturday after a 3-year-old child was brought to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with severe injuries, according to a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office press release.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Nicholas Ritter, 28, brought the girl into the hospital around 11:56 p.m. Friday with a skull fractures, bruising on her neck and shoulders and a cut on the bottom of her chin.
The doctor who treated the child said it didn’t look like a fall.
Ritter was charged with aggravated child abuse and is being held at the Sarasota County jail on a $100,000 bond.
