Police hunt for cell phone thief

The Bradenton Police Department is trying to locate a thief they say stole a cell phone from an auto shop.

At around 5 p.m. Aug. 29, the thief entered Auto Body Unlimited, 521 19th St. E., Bradenton, and stole a dark blue Samsung Galaxy 6s in a black case that was left charging on the desk.

Police describe the suspect as a male between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, 120-140 pounds, with a thin build and chin “scruff.” The suspect was wearing a brown knit hat, a light brown and white striped long-sleeve shirt, blue pants and black shoes, according to a news release.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any information concerning the incident is encouraged to contact Detective Yolanda Cox at 941-932-9310 and reference case No. 2016-7311.
