Outdoor Market to reopen at new Ranch location
LAKEWOOD RANCH -- The Lakewood Ranch Outdoor Market, formerly Main Street Market, reopens at 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Nov. 14 at St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church, 11315 Palmbrush Trail, on the southwest corner of State Road 70 and Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.
The market will start with second Saturdays on Nov. 14 and Dec. 12. The market will be open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. the second and fourth Saturdays of each month January through May.
Throughout the season, the market will have performances by several young musicians in the Bradenton/Sarasota area, as well as music by many local artists.
The Market reopens with many regular vendors: Farmer Petes Produce & Eggs, Armando's Fresh Produce, Stamper Cheese, Da Vinci's Gelato Food Truck, Essential Oils and Florida art from Lloyd Dobson and Matt Seaman. New vendors include jewelry, handmade soaps and candles and imported clothing, jewelry and handbags from South America.
Yappy Hour will outline guide dog walkathon
LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Southeastern Guide Dogs is planning a walkathon at Lakewood Ranch.
Anyone who would like to learn more about the walkathon is invited to Yappy Hour 3-6 p.m. Nov. 14 at Kona Grill, 150 University Town Center Drive, Sarasota.
Complimentary appetizers will be served. The event is pet friendly.

Ringling president will address broadcaster club
MANATEE -- Dr. Larry R. Thompson, president of Ringling College of Art and Design, will speak at the November Broadcasters Club of Florida luncheon at SaraBay Golf Club, 7011 Willow St., at noon Friday, Nov. 13.
Thompson will update major projects such as a film soundstage and post-production complex.
Lunch costs $20 for members, $25 non-members. Reservation deadline is noon Nov. 11.
