Ranch Humanitarian of Year nominations sought

LAKEWOOD RANCH -- The Lakewood Ranch Community Fund is now accepting nominations for the 12th Annual C. John A. Clarke Humanitarian of the Year Award, which will be presented at the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund Gala on March 19.

The Lakewood Ranch Community Fund established the award in recognition of Clarke's lifelong dedication to humanitarian ideals.

The Lakewood Ranch Community Fund will honor an individual or individuals who have made outstanding, sustained, and unselfish contributions to the community and whose commitment and dedication exemplify the ideal of service to community.

Past recipients include Clarke, Don O'Leary, Pat Neal, Lorraine and Dick Vitale, Darrell Turner, Stuart J. Roth, Bob and Billie Delaney, Lou and Ann Marinaccio, Col. John W. Saputo, Robert Rosinsky and Lee Wetherington.

The Lakewood Ranch Community Fund was established in 2000 as a donor-advised fund under the Manatee Community Foundation and is governed by a volunteer Board of Advisers. Contributions are made by residents, corporate sponsors and through fundraisers.

Nomination forms, available at lwrfund.org,s should be mailed to the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund, c/o Manatee Community Foundation, 3103 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton FL 34205, by 5 p.m. Jan. 11.
