Feel the buzz about electric vehicles with Mote
Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium hopes to spark the importance of electric driving with its fourth “Electrify the Island” event on Saturday, Sept. 10.
The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can check out different plug-in electric vehicles first-hand, with ride-and-drive sessions, sustainability vendors and educational booths.
Two forums will be held for those who want to learn more about electric: “EV 101” will be at 11 a.m. and “Charging Infrastructure” will be at 1 p.m.
At 12 p.m., city and county officials will honor “Electrify the Island” and the sixth annual National Drive Electric Week, which runs from Sept. 10 to 18.
Mote Aquarium admission will be reduced to $6 for Florida residents every Saturday in September this year.
