Homeless man arrested a second time for Manatee vehicle burglaries

Acting on a tip from a citizen who saw a man acting suspiciously around parked cars in the Desoto Junction shopping plaza about noon Tuesday, July 19, Manatee County deputies arrested a homeless man who was carrying items that had been taken during a burglary.

Deputies were able to match stolen items taken during a burglary Monday, one block away from where the man was arrested, the sheriff’s office reported.

The witness from Monday’s burglary was located and positely identified the man, identified as Ryan P. Morrison, 43. The victim's items were recovered.

Morrison was arrested a little over a month ago on June 16 in the 3600 block of 1st Street, across the street from where he was arrested on Tuesday. In the earlier case Morrison was seen entering vehicles in the middle of the day and stealing items. Bradenton Police officers were in the area and chased Morrison, catching him, the sheriff’s office reported.
