Warrant confusion leads to 3 tickets for Manatee County man, 24

A 24-year-old Manatee County man who thought he was wanted on a warrant was subdued with a Taser and issued three tickets after a traffic stop at 10:28 p.m. Friday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Department.

Quentin Gilbert fled from the passenger side of a car after it was stopped for a traffic infraction in the 1300 block of 59th Avenue East, according to the incident report.

He was captured in the rear of a residence after being struck with a Taser. Gilbert was arrested and cited for an open container, no seat belt and resisting arrest.

There was, however, no warrant out for his arrest.
